Daniel Ingram only provides two songs for this two-parter, but they surely fill the void of 10 songs. There's a lot more I could say about the episode, but let's move onto why this video is here: the music! This episode had hands-down some of the best music of the series, both songs and score. Not to mention the plot stretched much further back than even this season, including such past events such as Discord's reformation from season 3, and even Cerberus leaving his post in Tartarus back in season 2 as the reason for Tirek's escape. It was fantastic watching all of the callbacks and references to events and characters from this season, and how those individual moments each contributed to something much larger. While the majority of the season had fairly individual and "slice of life" episodes, Meghan McCarthy and her team have managed to interweave an overarching plot into them, making almost seemingly unrelated episodes come together. This season has been different in many ways, including it's overarching continuity.
So far, this is Friendship is Magic's crowning achievement. From a very intense villain, to a twisting story, to being beautifully storyboarded and animated, to absolutely God-like songs and score, to an all-out DBZ-style fighting sequence. This episode pretty much blew anything we've seen in the past from My Little Pony out of the water. Wow, this episode-What a way to end the season! "Tirek Battle Suite" BGM from the episode "Twilight's Kingdom - Part 2" of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" (S04E26).
